　　①媒体包括传统媒体（traditional media）和新媒体（new media），传统媒体又包括报纸（newspaper）杂志（magazine）广播（broadcast）电视（television），而新媒体主要包括手机（mobile phone）和电脑（computer）。传播的手段包含文字（text）图像（picture）声音（audio）和影像（video），可以明显看出的趋势是，影像在所有传播手段中被使用的频率越来越高，占比越来越大，这可能与日益加快的生活节奏有关（the faster pace of life），人们需要更高效地获取信息（demand a quick access to information）,而影像结合了声音、图像，可以在相同的时长中传递更多的信息。
　　②媒体的优点在于，可以加速信息的传播（speed up the transmission of information）,所以人们可以更快地得到自己需要的信息，如手机电话通信，可以说是极大地提高了交流的便利度（make it more convenient to communicate）。同时，媒体也促进了商业的发展（promote business），卖家可以通过媒体广泛地宣传（publicize widely）自己的产品以便找到客户，消费者也可以借助媒体找到合适的商品。
